Concep Send includes functions which allow you to send carbon copies (CC) and blind carbon copies (BCC). These features allow users to copy in predetermined email addresses so they can receive an email when a Campaign is sent out.
The CC function will send a single email to the specified inbox. It is intended to be used to send a compliance copy of the Campaign, enabling you to always keep track of the comms you are sending. Attached to the compliance copy is a file titled "History" which gives you an instant overview of how many contacts the Campaign was sent to.
With the BCC function, you receive a copy of the Campaign in your inbox for every recipient. For example, if you send a Campaign to 100 recipients, the email address you specify in the BCC setting will receive 100 versions of the campaign. This is great if you are a relationship owner and you'd like to keep close tabs on who has been sent what.
It's important to note that these settings are on the account level - you can't change the CC and BCC settings per campaign.
Carbon Copy (CC)
A CC can be set up within each user account to send an email to selected email addresses when the Campaign is sent. There are three options to consider when applying CC to a user account which can be found within the Settings page. These are the email address/addresses that the CC will be sent to, the Subject line for the CC and the amount of recipients that will need to be sent a Campaign for the CC to trigger.
All of these features can be found by navigating to Settings > My Settings > Typing CC into the search bar > "Emails to send CC", "Subject prefix for CC" and "Number of recipients to trigger CC".
Blind Carbon Copy (BCC)
The BCC feature allows an email address to be sent a copy of a Campaign for every recipient that receives it. This can be effective if there is an individual that would like to monitor every contact that is sent a certain Campaign. The BCC feature is not intended to be used for end recipients as it will contain additional text within the subject like such as [cbcc_subject]. This can be used as an identifier if you are unsure why an email address has received many of the same communication. You will also be able to see who the email was sent to when viewing the BCC email.
A BCC can be set up in each individual user account by clicking Settings > My settings > Typing in BCC within the search bar. Once you have clicked on the BCC setting you will be able to insert the email address of the contact that is to receive the BCC.
When the Campaign is sent, the BCC email address will receive an email for every recipient that is sent the Campaign i.e. if a Campaign is sent to 10 recipients then the BCC will receive 10 emails. This is different to the CC setup where the recipient will only be sent one email per Campaign.
Sending to a large group of recipients
If you are intending to send to a large group of recipients and want to include a BCC, I would recommend to create a folder within your email client so that you can keep all of your BCC emails in one place.
Using BCC to manage replies
If you are wanting to use BCC to manage replies, you may find it easier to have replies set to forward onto an additional email address so that this email will be sent all replies without having to be sent an email for every Campaign sent out.
